What coping methods help with anxiety, fear and loneliness?

Since my last hospital visit I have been anxious, fearful and kinda lonely. I didn't experience anything different during hospitalization but I just can't shake these feelings off. I am the only child in my immediate family and I was diagnosed with sickle cell 6 months after birth. I am now 24. It is difficult to share with my family because they might understand but they don't fully get it. Please share any methods that have worked for you

  1. Hello! I'm glad you are part of this community. Mental health concerns are real when dealing with an invisible illness like SC. And now that you aren't a child anymore and probably managing your own health care, it's no surprise that you may feel alone. You may be interested in an article that one of our health leaders wrote an article on sickle cell and mental health. Have you tried anything in particular so far? Wishing you all the best, Kathy (Team member)
