Dating, Love, Support, and SICKLE CELL

I'm in love with a woman who has sickle cells, dating her comes with different challenges, she has constant knee pain that limits us only to certain activities. She is always tired or in pain, she is a soldier because she refuses to take her pain medications, unless she is extremely close to a crisis. Sometimes when she or I spend the night I'm rubbing her knees, my question is, is there anything else I can do to support her without getting lost in the feeling of helpless?

  1. CommunityMemberf75450 I find it so brave of you to be here, asking how to help and support your girlfriend. Being with someone who is experiencing life this way is not for the weak, I commend you for wanting to find the best ways to support her. I wanted to share a few articles written by our health leaders for you with hope that it brings you some insight and help as you move forward with your relationship.
