Hello, I was diagnosed at 18 months. My mother said I started to walk. One day she put shoes on my feet. I cried and wouldn’t walk. She took me to a Cleveland clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. I was diagnosed with Sickle Cell Anemia SS.
My mother thought it was too cold in Cleveland, so they returned to Arkansas. I’m the first diagnosed case of SCD in AR. I’m sixty one years old. Oldest case in the state.
