May Is National Mental Health Month

May is National Mental Health Month. Join Patient Leader Halimat as she checks in with herself.

Making healthy habits is hard. Taking care of ourselves is a full-time job we should prioritize year-round. But take this moment to reflect on the last month or so. How have you been feeling? How's your stress level? Are you eating right, staying hydrated, and getting enough sleep?

Time to reflect

If you answered no to many of those questions, like Halimat, maybe you should check in with yourself more often. It's easy to forget the day-to-day things that keep us healthy, so making time to check in with ourselves is important! You can try keeping a journal to log your mood, pain crises, sleep, stress, diet, and exercise to keep better track of how all of these things affect your health.

Watch the video to see how Halimat checks in with herself even when things get a little rough.
