A Warrior's Call

My story with sickle cell disease starts like many others being born with the condition, but I also have a twin brother, and he is going to save my life later on. My hero twin brother is Jordan and he has sickle cell trait. Growing up, I dealt with many of the basic issues that sickle cell patients deal with, until I was about 25. My sickle cell took a turn for the worse, and unfortunately, I had no choice but to have a bone marrow transplant. Luckily, my donor was my twin brother Jordan, who saved my life that day many years ago. I'm now proud to say that I am an advocate and speak about sickle cell disease and bone marrow transplant; which I love to do. Sickle cell has been a tough journey to live, but I was able to find not only my voice but my advocacy voice, and now I use it to help others. I now know what this warrior is called for.
