A Few Methods I Use To Help Me Get To Sleep

Did you know that around 70% of adults with sickle cell disease experience sleep disturbances? Well, I had no idea.

Sleep disorders are common!

I thought struggling to get to sleep was a "me problem" but turns out –as is the case with many sickle cell-related issues, I am not alone.

As difficulty sleeping has been something I have dealt with for many years, there are a few methods that I sometimes find helpful to get me to sleep.

I will admit that sometimes it's practically impossible to get to sleep. However, the methods I have shared with you in this video do more often than not help me to drift off.

A few tips

  • Focusing on my breathing
  • Applying scented oils
  • Practicing meditation
