Live the Moment

I am 25 years old and have lived with sickle cell anemia since I was six months old. The crises are the worst; the pain and the fear that I can't take anymore. I am studying public health epidemiology. I continue living as if it were the last one. I have had too many hospitalizations since I can remember.

My advice

Living with SCD is not easy, and many people do not understand it because only one knows what it is like to have this disease. I believe God will send the right person to create a cure in the future. Having sickle cell anemia is a social, economic, and physical challenge for anyone who suffers from this disease.
